Above The Blue Horizon: The Complete Collection
by Eric Olander
Above the Blue Horizon by author and sculptor Eric Olander was originally published as three small books of 12 poems each. Written primarily while Eric was recovering from heart surgery and stroke and experiencing the isolation of the 2020 global pandemic, his poetry often weaves humor with short, cleaver rhyme schemes. Subjects are frequently revealed in probing allegory.
As with his earlier writing and metal sculptures, Eric’s poetry is influenced by the life all around him. He believes Inspiration can be found in quiet contemplation, when thoughts are permitted to evolve and redirect at will. As he says, “There is something about the way an inner voice can renew our connections and shape new awareness.”
